You'll meet NHS professionals in live workshops where you'll be able to ask them questions.

You'll complete activities and work assignments to develop an understanding of what a career in the NHS can mean.

Eligibility & Schedule:

West London & Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trusts work experience programme is open to 15-18 year olds who attend schools based within the following local authorities: 

Hammersmith and Fulham, Camden, Hillingdon, Ealing, Westminster, Richmond-upon-Thames, Harrow, Barnet, Hounslow, Kensington and Chelsea, Hampshire, Wokingham, Surrey, Windsor and Maidenhead, Oxfordshire, Bracknell Forest, West Berkshire, Berkshire, Reading or Slough

The 3 work experience programmes will take place on the following dates:

  • Nursing - July 20th until July 31st
  • Allied Health Professionals - July 20th until July 31st
  • Medicine - Dates are still to be confirmed


When will applicants hear back?

Applicants will find out if they have place on the Nursing or Allied Health Professionals Virtual Work Experience Programmes on July 15th.

How do I apply?

Students need to create a Springpod account and apply through the platform.

What if I'm home schooled?

You are still welcome to apply if you are home schooled. You're able to note this on your application.

When is the application deadline?

The application deadline is currently July 13th but applications may close earlier if we experience a particularly high volume of applications.

How do you make it safe?

During all live parts of the work experience programme there will be a DBS cleared member of staff on the webinar, students cannot be seen and sessions are recorded. 

Careers Leaders or teachers will also have access to the programme. For additional information please attend our Careers Leader Webinar.

What technology will I need?

You will need access to a computer for 10 hours over the 2 weeks that the programme takes place. 

What time will the talks be?

If you are accepted on to the programme you will be sent a full schedule. If you are unable to attend any of the live talks recordings will be available on-demand.

What if my school isn't in London?

This programme is only open to applications from students who attend schools within the listed local authorities. If you attend a school outside of that list of local authorities then don't worry, we expect so have more virtual work experience opportunities that you will be able to apply for.

Experience work in the NHS

This work experience programme will give you the chance to see life inside the NHS. You'll learn about day-to-day life, the values you'll need to succeed and how you can get into Health Care.

Take part from the comfort of your own home

All you need to access this programme is a computer that you can use for 10 hours over the 2 weeks. You can fit the work around your schedule.

Build your CV or personal statement

This programme will give you experience that makes your CV or personal statement stand out. You'll receive a certificate upon completing this work experience programme. Set yourself apart this summer.
